Palana Partners with UWPD!

Palana has begun the development of a dispatch website in collaboration with the University of Washington Police Department (UWPD). The website will be designed to support dispatchers who receive ride requests via phone call. The tool allows campus safety staff to submit ride requests on behalf of callers directly into the same live system used by the student and driver apps to ensure all rides share the same state regardless of how they were requested. Palana intends to design the website as a streamlined single-screen site with low latency updates and real-time ride tracking. Additional features under consideration include SMS and email notifications for phone-in requesters. A live dashboard showing all active and pending rides, driver locations, and per-ride ETAs is also in development, giving dispatchers a full operational overview at a glance. This partnership with UWPD reflects Palana's broader approach of layering modern technology on top of existing campus safety infrastructure, rather than replacing it entirely in order to ensure the best experience for all technical users as possible.
